So I must admit I have a little bit of an empty feeling in my stomach right now. I am here at work and doing the everyday stuff while my racing friends are at Division Finals. Every season each race track around the southeastern United States sends their top 10 racers from each class to a race against all the other tracks. From Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. So usually there are about 15-18 tracks there with their 10 best racers in each class. I usually attend this event but his year I just couldn't make it, it's the biggest race of the year as far as prestige goes, but when I think about it what is prestige. It is the triumph of pride over humility.
Well, my buddy Curt Banks and his father Gary packed up the families and took off for Georgia late Wednesday and will be there racing today(time trials) tonight and tomorrow. The actual race is tomorrow, but as for today they have time trials and race of champions. Curt won the track championship in our class at Gainesville Raceway so he is able to race against all the other champions in the race of champions tonight so I am pulling for him for sure.
Now, back at the ranch our freshman football team pulled off the victory over Bartram Trails last night 29-21. It was a soggy, rainsoaked affair but they won. I also got a chance to watch the Pedro volleyball team win over St. Augustine which is a tough one for me because most of the players on St. Augustine's team are on the girls softball team I work with at St. Augustine High.
In between work and school we took off to Jim's place to get a bite to eat and relax for a few minutes in between the storms. We took the girls and enjoyed a calzone and some pizza with them before cheerleading camp. Once again last night P.J. had to teach me some of the cheers that are normally going on behind me during the game. So I will be torn during tonight's game as they will actually be on the track cheering while I am on the sideline with the team. I'll have tennis neck in the morning for sure from looking back and forth.
So that's it, busy, busy busy and loving it. Have a great weekend, thanks for reading!
