Tara and I are attempting to drag our weekends out when we have the chance. Life is so fast for us, with the church, work, the girls and all the other things we are involved in we are attempting to take stock in the girls' lives the best we can.
This weekend was an example of one of the few weekends that we were able to execute that plan well.
First, Friday Tara went to the grocery store while I got my racecar out of dad's garage and everything moved around so that Alexa and I could play basketball when they got home. We had dinner together, played some uno and watched a movie, just the four of us.
Saturday morning I got up early, rushed to the church and got some touch up painting done while everyone else was still sleeping. Then, I went home and hung out while the girls rode their bikes around the neighborhood. I rode with my dad to pick up a car that he is going to be working on and then I came right back. We loaded up the girls and asked them what they wanted to do. P.J. wanted to go see Mr. Jimmy's horse and pigs so we took them out there. They had a blast feeding the pigs and playing with them, P.J. scared the horse so it didn't have a lot to do with us. After that we took them to teh park behind the library and let them swing, run around, climb the monkey bars, and ride the carousel. Then, we went home and watched a movie they had been wanting to see.
Sunday, after SUnday School, church and business meeting we all hung around in teh empty nest, strange for just the 4 of us to be in the house alone on a Sunday afternoon, but we did it.
So it was a slow peaceful calm before the storm. I start coaching Girls' softball today, Tara has to work on Tuesday and we are going to try to go to the races next Saturday, so it was fun while it lasted.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
