One of those weekends?

So I've shared with you before and I will continue to share my life and occasional struggles with it. Life comes at you fast and you have to just roll with the punches, sometimes the punches hit at bad times, but you just keep on going.
This past week, as many of you know I needed to basically accomplish 2 things, keep my sanity without my family here and survive on my own. If I can pull off these 2 things I will be a much stronger person for having done so.
Well, Saturday I got up, remember this was supposed to be my big birthday present, getting to go to the races. The weather shows 60% chance of rain, and then the Gainesville weather on weather.com shows 70% chance of rain. So my birthday evening was quickly going down the drain. I decide after much delberation to go to the church and get some things done. I get home, decide not to go racing and risk wasting $50 worth of gas if it rains. It didn't ever rain in Gainesville, even though the radar showed it and I missed my chance to race!
Not a big deal, Tara and the girls will be home around 7 so I will just watch the Olympics with Champ(the basset hound) and wait for them. That proved to be the longest afternoon I have endured in quite some time. My parents called and offered to let me eat dinner with them, I went and picked up some Schooners and brought it home. When I went to take it out of the car, the bottom of the bag tore and a big cup of chowder dumped out onto my seats, and splattered onto my sermon. No biggie, I'll just reprint it. Not so, the printer at home is on the skids, and later SUnday morning the printer at the church won't work with my lap top. So I preached with my paper hole-punched on the wrong side and with red substance all over it.
Then, back tracking a little bit actually I take off for church Sunday morning unable to get Tara or the girls moving early enough to ride with me. I pick up donuts and head to the church. As I pull up, I start unloading everything that goes with me off of the truck and I get a phone call from Aaron our worship leader. He's sick and won't be able to make it. Well, my plan B is Hali and I have no earthly idea where she might be, as I haven't seen her in about 8 days and she was going to Mexico at some point. So, I start frantically digging through my cd collection and the burner on my computer won't work right so I have to use what we have. I get 3 songs ready along with power point. I explained to those in the congregation my dilemma and that I had decided to worship along with the radio. We sang along with Cd's and it was not all that bad, actually it was kind of interesting to see how everyone responded and sang right along with the cd, without a leader, or any type of guidance.
One last thing, the air condition went out in the sunday school space and it didn't work all that well in the sanctuary either. Yikes! That has to be a priority for us this week.
So here I am, ready for Monday and hoping we don't get too much nasty weather from Fay, because I have 3 buildings and my own home to protect. So let's pray Fay right on out into the Atlantic as quickly as possible.
Have a great day, and I hope you enjoy my slip ups as much as I don't enjoy doing them!
